Webinar Description

This webinar introduces concepts of quality assurance and quality control in the context of the ART laboratory, drawing on international guidelines. Factors contributing to an effective quality management system will be highlighted, including staffing, competencies, traceability, and managing risks and adverse incidents.

Note: this webinar complements the webinar on KPIs

Webinar Objectives

To consider the components of a functioning quality management system that contribute to a program of continual improvement.

Target Audience

Any member of the reproductive medicine team wishing to learn about quality management and its application to the ART laboratory.

Educational needs and expected outcomes

The webinar aims to provide participants with an introduction to quality management as applied to assisted conception using the ESHRE Revised Guidelines for Good Practice in IVF Laboratories (2015) as a starting point. Hence, the webinar will introduce topics including organisational management, staff competencies, validated processes, traceability, quality testing, management of equipment, dealing with adverse events, and risk management.

During the ‘Meet the expert’ sessions, questions (including troubleshooting) will be answered directly in a one-on-one meeting with our experienced embryologists and scientists.

Required prior knowledge for participation in webinar

Participants should ideally be working in an ART setting, though no specific experience is needed.

Language

The webinar will be presented in English.
