Course Description
This one-day hands-on course will be a step-by-step practical guide to trophectoderm (TE) biopsy and cell preparation for PGT.
Methods for biopsy and cell preparation via tubing including a description of pipettes, media, and equipment will be discussed in detail. Demonstration of both techniques and hands-on training on a mouse model is included.
This Hands-on Course is part 2 of the ‘Trophectoderm Biopsy and Cell Preparation for PGT’ Course. Participation in Part 1, the Virtual Course is mandatory before enrolling in the Hands-on Course.

Course Objectives
- To learn about the practice of trophectoderm biopsy and cell preparation for PGT in the laboratory
- To learn about the equipment set up for biopsy and cell preparation
- To have step-by-step hands-on experience of the biopsy of cells from different mouse blastocyst stages, as well as cell preparation working with a mouse model

- To get tips and tricks and troubleshooting solutions

The course aims to provide you with:
- an introduction to the biopsy equipment set-up, including choice of microtools and media used
- initiation in hands-on training of trophectoderm biopsy and cell preparation for PGT
- knowledge of setting up and maintaining quality in your biopsy project in your lab
Educational methods
Demonstrations and hands-on training on trophectoderm biopsy, using mouse embryos, and cell preparation for genomic testing.
Minimal expertise required for participation in the Course
Lab technicians, clinical embryologists, research scientists with micromanipulation experience wishing to learn the basics of trophectoderm biopsy and cell preparation for PGT and/or improve their technique.
