Jennifer Sloan MSc CCRP
Lead Genetic Counsellor, UK & Ireland, CooperSurgical
Jennifer graduated from the University of Manchester’s MSc Genetic Counselling programme in the United Kingdom. Residing in London, Jennifer manages the UK contract genetic counselling team and PGT-M and PGT-SR referrals to our UK CooperGenomics laboratory. She provides comprehensive genetic counselling for patient enrolment, results, and discussion of complex results with clinics and patients.
Prior to joining CooperGenomics, she worked as a clinical genetic counsellor in public healthcare systems both in Canada and locally in the NHS for over 8 years. Jennifer primarily worked as a Lead GC in both prenatal and cardiovascular genetics, and also has extensive clinical genetic counselling experience in paediatrics, neurogenetics, adult general clinics as well as cancer genetics. Prior to her GC career, she worked for over 7 years as a certified clinical research professional in high risk obstetrics with the Maternal Fetal Medicine consultants, in addition to reproductive genetics, psychiatric genetics, and cardiovascular surgery clinical trials at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC where she also trained as a crisis counsellor.
She has worked in 13 hospitals in the United Kingdom: Manchester, London, Bristol, and in Canada: Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto and Vancouver in the past 17 years. When she’s not travelling the world, she enjoys learning to play guitar, yoga, and learning to speak Italian and becoming fluent in French.
