Stephen Harbottle PhD

Consultant Embryologist , Cambridge IVF

Stephens’s career in reproductive science began in 1994 at the University of Bristol. He joined the team at Cambridge IVF in 2009 and designed and oversaw the build of the Cambridge IVF facility which was at the time regarded as a leading example of laboratory design.

Stephen is the former Chair of both the Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) and the Association of Biomedical Andrologists (ABA) and is a current Executive Board Member of Alpha Scientists in Reproductive Medicine.

Stephen’s current research interests include clinical applications of ultra high power microscopy sperm selection, developing strategies to improve the safety and effectiveness of gamete and embryo cryostorage and developing non-invasive care pathways for mildly sub-fertile men.
